Three Ingredient or Less Appetizers (Part Two)

Three Ingredient Appetizers

With so many holiday parties coming, you are bound to need an appetizer to share. I know I do! And you know, being a food blogger, you would think I’d make these elaborate plates of beautiful food for every pot luck we go not so much, while the food is tasty I like something easy because, I don’t know if y’all know this yet, but...I’m not much of a planner. Even if I do plan, I tend to change my mind by the time I get around to the actual doing of the things. For this reason I have a few favorite appetizers to share with y’all! I’m also going to break this down into three posts for y’all. Next up, Three Ingredients or Less! Be sure to tell me what you try and share the ones you like with your friends! Part one is already up and be on the lookout for part three next week!

Appetizers: Three Ingredients or Less

Bacon Wrapped Jalapenos

10-15 Jalapenos (general rule is the bigger ones have less heat)
1 Block Cream Cheese
½ package Bacon

1. Preheat oven to 400*
2. Halve jalapenos horizontally, remove seeds and veins for less heat
3. Spread a small amount of cream cheese into halved jalapenos (½-1 tsp, depending on size of pepper)
4. Cut bacon slices in half and wrap around or lay across the top of the peppers
5. Place on a baking sheet (I love my stoneware!) cream cheese side up
6. Cook until bacon is done (however you like it) about 15-20 min

Baked Brie

The idea here is something sweet and/or spicy with the creamy, slightly salty brie. You can remove the rind or leave it (I usually leave it because I’m lazy and it really is your preference.) You can also get a wedge or a round, again it doesn’t matter and I usually just get what’s on sale! So a few jams I like, pepper jelly, a bacon & pepper jam, fig jam, and orange marmalade. In a pinch you could also use a block of cream cheese and it gives you a tangier flavor and a different texture! Add this to your cheese board if you like or serve it on its own with your favorite dippers (I’ve also been known to add it to a salad.) If you choose to serve this on its own you can also get some nice french bread cut into dippers and bake at the same time around the brie.

Brie wheel or wedge
Jam or jelly of choice

1. Preheat oven to 350*
2. Slice brie in half horizontally
3. Place one half rind side down (easier cleanup) on a baking sheet (again stones are awesome!)
4. Add a layer of jam to cover the brie
5. Place second half on top of jam and add another layer of jam
6. Bake in oven until melty, about 8-10 min

  1. Fig jam is amazing on Brie! It’s usually sold near the cheese counter.
